چکیده

Functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) is an optical imaging method which monitors the brain activation by measuring the successive changes in the concentration of oxyand deoxyhemoglobin in real time. In this study, we aimed to investigate the functional connectivity in the prefrontal cortex (PFC) during a modified version of the color-word matching Stroop task among schizophrenia and healthy persons. fNIRS data were band-pass filtered using a wavelet algorithm with frequency range of 0.003-0.08Hz. Partial correlation (PC) values were computed for each stimulus condition. Our analysis shows that the functional connectivity of PFC is highly relevant with the cognitive load and it is different from healthy to schizophrenia person.

Optical Imaging of the Motor Cortex in the Brain in Order to Determine the Direction of the Hand Movements Using Functional Near-Infrared Spectroscopy (fNIRS)

Introduction: In recent years, optical imaging has attracted a lot of attention from scholars as a non- aggressive, efficient method for evaluating the activities of the motor cortex in the brain. Functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS (is a tool showing the hemodynamic changes in a cortical area of the brain according to optical principles. The present study has been de...

Resting-state functional connectivity measured by diffuse correlation spectroscopy.

Near-infrared diffuse correlation spectroscopy (DCS) is used to record spontaneous cerebral blood flow fluctuations in the frontal cortex. Nine adult subjects participated in the experiments, in which 8-minute spontaneous fluctuations were simultaneously recorded from the left and right dorsolateral and inferior frontal regions. Resting-state functional connectivity (RSFC) was measured by the t...

Determination of Protein and Moisture in Fishmeal by Near-Infrared Reflectance Spectroscopy and Multivariate Regression Based on Partial Least Squares

The potential of Near Infrared Reflectance Spectroscopy (NIRS) as a fast method to predict the Crude Protein (CP) and Moisture (M) content in fishmeal by scanning spectra between 1000 and 2500 nm using multivariate regression technique based on Partial Least Squares (PLS) was evaluated. The coefficient of determination in calibration (R2C) and Standard Error of Calibra...

Evaluation of Model-Based Methods in Estimating Dynamic Functional Connectivity of Brain Regions

Today, neuroscientists are interested in discovering human brain functions through brain networks. In this regard, the evaluation of dynamic changes in functional connectivity of the brain regions by using functional magnetic resonance imaging data has attracted their attention. In this paper, we focus on two model-based approaches, called the exponential weighted moving average model and the d...
